My Classroom Website

Review Online

For homework, students need to review French grammar concepts and vocabulary on a regular basis. A fun way to do this is to go online and play games on some French websites.

The site Quia at www.quia.com/shared/ is helpful as well as www.uni.edu/becker/french31.html. Students can also Google “Best French Websites” to reach this site. It has quizzes, drills, French verbs and grammar games. As there are so many sites to choose from, parents may want to choose a few with their child, depending on the need of the student.  Parents who are usually unable to assist their child with French find these sites very helpful.

 French Homework Club

The French Homework Club is every Wednesday night from dismissal time until 4:30pm in room 6 (the French classroom). This is an opportunity for students to ask questions, review for tests and complete assignments after school if they need extra help.

Dictionaries

Students are encouraged to have a French-English dictionary at home to assist them with home and class work. Harrap’s French and English pocket dictionary has over 100,000 translations as well as conjugations of irregular verbs. Another option is to use a French-English dictionary online, a good site being www.wordreference.com as it gives the context and gender of each word.
